Atinuke and I performed a special B is for Baby event on the Starlight Stage at The Hay Festival!

It was my first time at Hay festival so I did not know what to expect, but I loved being at the festival and taking part was such fun!

The atmosphere was very special - The author and illustrator’s party; the beautiful surrounding countryside; the Starlight stage; presenting with Atinuke; the Make and Take Tent; the Green Room, Chris Riddell and Atinuke’s wonderful event and the magic of it all!

We stood on the Starlight Stage and there was a lovely friendly audience of toddlers and parents.  I had made some BIG pictures from B is for Baby for children to hold. We had a Boy on a Bicycle so we could go BUMPY, BUMPY, BUMPY, I had a Big Baobab tree, some tissue paper Bougainvillea, some Butterflies, a Beautiful Bird on a tall stick, a Basket with Bananas inside, a Baby doll just like the one in our story and a plate of Biscuits!

Children were quick to come up on stage to help us by holding up each of the things beginning with B just at the right time. As they left the stage, they were all very happy to pick up either a Biscuit, a Banana or Both!

Later that day I visited the vibrant and creative Make and Take tent in order to do a slot in the Illustrator’s hotdesk. We had such fun, laughed so much and the event was a great success!

Thankyou so much Atinuke for inviting me to come with you to present B is for Baby!
