Book signing at Pickled Pepper Books, Oct 2017

It was wonderful to visit the super friendly folk at Pickled Pepper Books in Crouch end to read Baby Goes to Market!

I took along African fabrics and baskets, fruit and vegetables from the market and we talked about how Mama’s in Africa carry their babies on their backs and their shopping on their heads! I asked children to come up and try balancing bowls and baskets on their heads just like the Mama in the story!

My ethiopian friend brought along her baby, Helene. She showed us how she would use a fabric wrapper to carry her baby.

I signed lots of books and drew some children’s portraits just for fun!

It was a lovely relaxed occasion with young families and friends.

Thank you to the team at Pickled Pepper Books for making me feel so welcome!
